From Monday, May 12 to Saturday, June 7, 2025,
the Annual Film Photography Contest by Nation Photo returns for its 15th edition!
A unique concept:
1 original theme
1 camera
1 film
48 hours to shoot
The theme
"L'Envers du Décor, (Behind the Scene)" : Def. : The hidden side of things, less shiny than their appearance.
Without referring to the locution, the theme invites us to reveal what lies behind appearances.
What we don't see at first glance, what we conceal. L'Envers du Décor is about exploring the invisible, the secret, the real.
So open the curtains wide! And go and explore the backstage, the hidden details, in short everything that escapes the eye and
we challenge you to give us your own vision of the theme.
The camera
The camera that will accompany you during these 48 hours of shooting
will be loaned to you by Pentax and Nation Photo.
It's the brand-new Pentax 17.
It's a lightweight, compact, half-size camera with advanced features.
Don't worry, we'll explain everything to you when you borrow the unit!
(it's not complicated, I promise)
The film roll
(it's not complicated, I promise)The film used to illustrate the theme "L'Envers du Décor" is none other than a
Nation Photo 400 with 6 exposures (12 photos in all, as the Pentax 17 is half format).
This 400 iso film has the particularity of not having a Remjet layer (anti-halo mask)
originally intended to reduce or eliminate unwanted reflections that may occur during projection.
As a result, the film sometimes creates an appreciable reddish halo effect in the highlights.
Your photos will also be processed, digitized and printed
at the end of the competition..
