[PHOTO CONTEST 2026] To Excess

From Thursday, April 23 to Monday, May 25, 2026, take part in our big annual analog photography contest for its 16th edition!
A unique concept: we lend you a camera with a roll of film, and you have 48 hours to shoot on an original theme.
This year, the contest will take place in two cities: in Paris from April 23 to May 15, and in Lyon from May 18 to May 25.

THE THEME

≪ To the point of excess ≫
Definition: Going beyond measure, crossing the limits of what is reasonable.

Without referring directly to the expression, the theme invites you to explore the moment when everything tips over- when everything becomes too much. Excess can appear anywhere: in saturated colors, an accumulation of objects, overflowing emotion, or exaggerated movement. The idea is to show what goes beyond reason, by pushing your ideas and creativity past conventional limits. Dare to go further, and share your own vision of excess!

THE CAMERA

Thanks to our partner @kodakfilm.reto, participants (maybe you?) will be equipped with the KODAK Snapic A1, the new 35mm compact camera released by Reto. Perfect for beginners as well as more experienced photographers, this camera is ultra-light and very easy to use. Featuring a flash and a double exposure mode, it allows you to easily layer two images into one, making it ideal for creating unique and creative shots around the theme of excess. A full explanation will be provided when you pick up the camera (it’s simple, we promise).

THE FILM ROLL

Thanks to our partners TETENAL and GT Company, the film provided for this contest is Kodak Gold 200 (24 exposures). Participants will shoot in color to illustrate their vision of the theme. Chosen for its rich and vibrant color palette, it’s ideal for outdoor use in sunny, bright conditions, or indoors with strong lighting or flash.

Development, scanning, and prints of your photos will be handled by us and offered at the end of the contest.

THE JURY

Made up of photography professionals, the jury will collectively select the top 3 winning photos as well as their favorites for this 16th edition.
In previous editions, the jury has included well-known figures from the photography world such as: Odieux Boby, Théo Gosselin, Émilie Désir, Jérémie Villet, Fred Goyeau, Lao Ségur, William Keo, Enzo Lefort, Diamantino Quintas, Anaïs Raffin, David Dahan…

But we won’t reveal everything just yet! The jury for this new edition will be announced soon… Stay tuned.

THE ANALOG DAY

To celebrate the end of the contest, Nation Photo invites you to celebrate analog photography with us!
Join us on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 4pm to 8pm at Point Éphémère in Paris, with a program including booths, workshops, photowalks, photocalls, the contest exhibition, a mobile lab, a big analog raffle, the winners’ announcement and prize ceremony, and much more.
